DECTON MAINTENANCE

Cleaning and maintenance of kitchen worktops

Routine maintenance

Thanks to its virtually zero porosity, the ultra-compact Dekton® surface is highly resistant to everyday stains and chemical products, making it ideal for use as a kitchen worktop as well as other work surfaces both indoors and outdoors. For general cleaning, Cosentino recommends the use of Q-Action Cleaner with a sponge or soft-fibre sponge/wipe. If this product is not available, neutral soap and water is the best choice.

Cleaning tough stains

In the case of heavy stains - either because they are not resistant to normal cleaning products or because they have remained on the surface for a long time - we recommend using more specific products such as solvents (acetone or universal solvent). The attached table shows the different types of stains, together with the corresponding cleaning products.

Impact avoidance

Although Dekton is an extremely durable surface, impacts should be avoided in areas that are more vulnerable (corners, edges, phases, etc.).

Heat resistance

Kitchen utensils such as frying pans, pots, pans, coffee makers, etc. can be placed directly on the worktop after use. Similarly, heating electrical appliances may be placed on the worktop without protection. Dekton 12mm and 20mm thick material is designed to withstand the heat generated by household tools*.

Precautions

  • Avoid direct contact of hot metal parts of heating appliances (hotplate) with the stone surface.
  • Avoid direct open flame radiation to the surface (e.g. fireplaces, barbecues, etc.).
  • Avoid direct flame contact.
  • Dekton Xgloss - avoid prolonged contact with industrial hot objects.
